All The Indications of Disruption
I've spent the past 20 years tracking, on an almost daily basis, the volcano, oceanic, weather, space weather, Near Earth Asteroids, earthquake, and other relevant global activities.
These scientific indicators have all increased in value, whether we are talking about size or frequency.
We now have more and larger storms. Volcanic activity is at unheard of levels. Near Earth Asteroids have increased in number. Weather is now more unpredictable than ever, even with radar and satellites.
Is this all due to an unseen force moving into our area of the cosmos? Are some of these earth changes occurring due to the influence of man and his activities?
It all reminds me of a short story by Robert Heinlein, Sci-Fi master; "The Year of the Jackpot".

The Great Eclipse of America
Next week at this time, the Great American Eclipse of 2017 will be history. There will be millions of photos, videos, selfies, and commentary.
Will this eclipse set off earthquakes, social unrest, war?
History has had many prophets, across all cultures, who have foretold events that were tied to eclipses, not to mention the natural ones, such as earthquakes, volcanic activity, and storms.
I've seen a total eclipse from the Netherlands back in 1999. Unfortunately, I didn't take off from work to see it. Totality was further south in Belgium, France and Luxembourg.
Standing in the parking lot with my co-workers it was a short but exciting event, in a geeky sort of way. Like they say, 'You had to be there'.
It also seemed to herald a death spiral to my working life.
The job I had was with an American company,doing contract work for another American company at their manufacturing plant. Everything connected with the job was a trial due to my former employer having never worked in Europe. Let's just say that conditions deteriorated rather than improved over time.
Was it due to the eclipse? Probably not, but down through history eclipses have been noted as portents of major changes. My life has changed dramatically since 1999.
I've spent the past 17 years trying to understand how and why America has been become the country we now have, one that appears to be lost, without principles.
A country where liars, cheats, thieves, and scoundrels flourish, and are admired for it.
All things rotten soon collapse.
I am think we are about to see that happen to America.

Don't Worry, Be Happy, All is Well
Don't worry be happy, there is nothing to concern yourself about, life is wonderful.
Governments worldwide are reassuring their citizens that all is GREAT!
Yes, believe them at your peril, because something is afoot, out there.
700% increase and that's not a stock market report. That's the increase in the past 5 years of asteroids that are whizzing past our dear Earth.
For those so unenlightened, an asteroids is kind of like a cosmic hemorrhoid, except it's always moving until it hits something, like our planet.
You don't want to be around when it strikes the ground.
Ask yourself why all the governments are building underground bunkers.
It ain't for storing cheese.

Errorist State of the Ignornet
I would like to thank everyone on the Ignornet for keeping me informed of all the important 'news'.
How could I get through my day without knowing about all the myths and deceptions being promoted to you the unsuspecting by our great misleaders, errorists all.
I call them errorists, as they use any and all incidents to create more chaos, which feeds your need for 'leadership'.
This 'leadership' thrives only on fear and ignorance, which you devour at your expense.
Cause all those errors made by the errorists are paid for by you.

Maybe, now, after all these years, I can get some traction when I send out query emails to agents about my cyberwar books.
In 1991 I wrote my first screenplay about drones. In those pre-internet days you had to snail mail agents, then pray for an answer.
In 1992, an agent in Hollywood was interested in seeing my work. I drove over to see him, from Ohio.
25 years ago hardly anyone knew what a drone was. Now everyone who wants to can fly one around their living room.
"Glitch" is much more than a story about cyberwar. It's an examination of our lack of perception and the deception of our society.
The future is here.

Time to publish
The book, working title "Glitch" is done. Polished, edited, ready to go.
Now I'm going to look into self-publishing it.

Polishing the Work
It can take time, writing anything worth reading. It takes more time trying to get it published.
I've gone to conferences, talked to other authors, pitched to agents from New York to Los Angeles.
All trying to find the key to getting my work out into the public.
Which was easier when I was building cars. I would slog through the rough, nasty work of cutting, patching, repairing bodies and engines. It's rewarding, turning junkers into jewels. Jumping into the driver's seat, firing it up for the first time and driving down the road.
Even if you customize it, it's still not completely your car.
I've built cars that were socially unacceptable as an expression of my vision. Visually jarring, they made more of an impact on people than the car-show-smooth road kings. Still it was the reworking of someone else's work.
So I've gone back to writing, taking photographs and making videos.
When writing a story I've found that I can get closer to the true act of creation.
Nothing we do is pure, as there is always the element of structure, previous work or movement that carries on the history of the format.
When it's done, going back over it, tuning it up, polishing out the last little rough spots.
That's when you know if it's labor or love.
I'm polishing "Glitch".
It will be out this year, if I have to publish it myself.

With Love to China and All Hackers
I've always enjoyed studying the history and culture of China. It's a fascinating country.
Unfortunately, I don't agree with some of their politics or the communist agenda. This has kept me from visiting what I'm sure is one of the most interesting countries in the world.
One day, I hope to see China. I know that it'll take a long time, even if I only visit a few places, with the country being as vast as it is.
What transpired this week, with the US government filing charges against Chinese military officers is scary. Those of us who have a basic grasp of the Oriental philosophy realize this is a much more serious affront than it appears to be in the news headlines.
Only a person of ignorance would think that cyber-spying is not going on in this new age. Everyone is doing it. Many companies are doing it, both to employees and clients. Governments are doing it to other governments, companies and their own citizens. Hackers are doing it for whatever reasons they have, good or bad.
It didn't start last week, last year or in the last decade. It's been going on every since the first computer network was set up. Someone, somewhere wants to know what you're doing.
I quit worrying about it.
Watch all you want.

It's Not Too Late...
To get prepared, but let's say that you don't have all the time in the world.
I've rewritten my cyberwar book, updating it and cleaning it up. When you write, it's not about writing, it's about rewriting that makes the article, book, etc worth reading.
Recent events have led me to believe that we are now fast approaching a point of no return in political alignments.
I won't delve deeply into the cosmic scenario. Let's just say that the Near Earth Asteroid count is up, the sun is about to 'flip' it's magnetic poles and I'm sure that you're enjoying this lovely weather.
What's the convergence point for all of these things? Almost impossible to say, much less predict with any degree of accuracy.
Like any life cycle, there's a beginning, a middle and an end. Then the spiral begins again. That's right, spiral. Think of the double-helix of the RNA/DNA molecule and you'll get the idea.
Or as an old saying goes, "The worm turns."

If it's electrical, it might just be junkyard treasure in the future.

What's Next?
Just looked at the Spaceweather.com site and we could have some more flares in the next week or so.
Can't believe that FINALLY, the mainstream media, in this case, National Public Radio, is actually covering cyberwar and it's potential for a man-made disaster. Oh, wait, it would be a 'war'. Not like any that you've ever seen or heard about, believe me. Now, maybe I can finally get an agent or publisher for my novel.

Solar Storms This Week?
Just looked at the Spaceweather site (www.spaceweather.com) and it's not encouraging, to say the least. We could have some CMEs (coronal mass ejections) yet this week in the X-class range. Already had some minor hits and expect them to affect our weather here on Earth.
If we do get a direct hit from a major X-class flare, there could be some electrical system problems, not to mention cellphone, satellite, etc. I've already had problems with my radio, noticeable interference in reception.
Otherwise, just enjoy the beautiful fall weather.

Solar Storms, Solar Tsunami
We are in a cycle of increased solar activity. Expect solar storms to affect your internet/cellphone/TV and other satellite or electrical equipment.
In the event of a Solar Tsunami, expect all communications to be interrupted for an indefinite period.
Don't expect any help from your local power company or telecom.
They aren't ready for an event of this magnitude.
Get out the sunblock and work on your tan.
Take time to read a book.
You might have to do it by candlelight.

Unstoppable?
I just read an article in the 11 October issue of InformationWeek (informationweek.com) entitled; "The Wrong Protection" by Greg Shipley.
In a nutshell, Mr. Shipley surveys the problems we currently have with cyber attacks and the lack of protection in all operating systems.
There is too much info in this article to give it any in depth treatment here. Mr. Shipley did an excellent job of highlighting the problems.
Unfortunately, the solutions are going to be drastic, if we are to maintain any secure systems.
If it all comes unglued, what are you going to do?

Wonder if any of our latest 'accidents' are really accidents or sabotage?
I do, after all, it's too easy to override systems in this day and age with a computer.

Glitch
Glitch.
Yes, it's a technical term for an electrical malfunction.
It's also the title of my latest novel.
The novel's about cyberwar that spins out of control.
As in conventional warfare, you don't always get the outcome you want.
Sometimes, there's a glitch.
I'll be posting more about the novel and my writing efforts in the future.
Which is where we better hope that the threat of cyberwar remains, in the future.
No one is prepared for what will happen when one breaks out.
Pray that we never see that day.
